Andrew Badeski

Junior Investment Associate

I joined Smith Affiliated Capital as a Junior Investment Associate in 2025, bringing a strong
foundation in capital markets, financial analysis, and strategic research. I graduated from the
Telfer School of Management at University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in
2025, where I focused on courses such as Financial Management, Multinational Finance,
Strategic Management, and Competitive Intelligence. I was also awarded a Subject Expert
Certificate in Market Insights/Competitive Intelligence, reflecting my interest in understanding
market dynamics and investment strategy. In addition, I have obtained my SIE certification and
am currently working toward the Series 63 and Series 65 exams.

Prior to joining the firm, I gained valuable public and private sector experience through a series
of internships. At Infrastructure Canada, I worked within the Capital Markets team as both a
Junior Analyst and Policy Analyst, where I analyzed Public-Private Partnership (P3) investments
and developed detailed investor profiles incorporating financial and ESG metrics. I also
supported senior leadership by preparing presentations and modeling industry trends for
executive-level decision-making.

Earlier in my career, I interned in fixed income at National Bank of Canada Financial in New
York City, where I contributed to cross-currency arbitrage analysis and supported trading and
debt capital markets teams with data-driven insights. I also worked as a College Financial
Representative at Northwestern Mutual, where I developed client-facing skills and worked
alongside a Financial Advisor to build financial plans, with a particular focus on life insurance
policies and broader advisory services.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through tennis, golf, and rowing.
