I serve as Co-President of Smith Affiliated Capital, where I oversee the firm’s investment efforts
across all portfolio strategies, with a particular focus on market direction, portfolio positioning,
and investment selection. Since joining SAC in 1994, I have played a central role in shaping the
firm’s investment strategies and long-term investment philosophy. I became a member of the
Investment Committee in 1998 and, in 2015, assumed a broader leadership role as Co-President
alongside the firm’s executive leadership team, helping guide the firm’s long-term strategic
direction and investment oversight.
My work has focused heavily on enhanced fixed income portfolios and the development of
socially sensitive investment approaches. I have always been interested in how broader
economic, political, and social trends influence markets, and that perspective continues to shape
both portfolio construction and strategic positioning across changing market environments. I
have also passed the Series 65 examination.
Prior to joining Smith Affiliated Capital, I worked with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during
its early development, contributing to strategic and financial initiatives. While completing my
graduate studies, I also worked within the museum’s financial department, gaining experience in
financial operations and planning.
I earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in U.S. Social and Economic Policy, along
with a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University and the
Weatherhead School of Management.
I am a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Association of Benefit
Administrators. I am also a member of the University Club of New York, the General Society of
Mayflower Descendants, and the Pilgrims of the United States.
